Import Room (Step 1) Specific Known Issues:

1.     Attempting to convert files to a non-existent volume will cause studio to hang.

  • Work around:  Make sure the selected destination volume is physically mounted before attempting to convert files to that volume.
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1

2.     MacBook Pro 13" Retina: Sometimes selecting a clip will not highlight the clip.

  • Work around: Scroll your import bin list slightly and it will activate the highlight.  (Working on this issue, will not be fixed for 2.0)
  • resolved 2.0.1

3.     When switching from import to edit room, and then back to import room.  Studio will not remember last selected clip in import room.

  • 1. Select a clip in the import bin. (Step 1)
  • 2. Select the edit room (step 2) tab.
  • 3. Then return to the import room (step 1)
  • 4. Previously selected clip will now be deselected.
  • This was a short-term fix implemented to fix another, more invasive bug that didn't allow you to scrub through the clip when switching from import to edit room, and back.   Will be fixed in an incremental release.

4.     Advanced settings reset to defaults after deselecting then reselecting a clip.

  • None:  Working on new logic for how this behaves.  Fix to come in incremental release.

5.     Converting to a full destination volume will lock "convert" button to it's active state.

  • Workaround:  Save and re-open project. (make sure you clear enough space on your destination volume to complete the conversion.
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1

4.     Converting large numbers of files can potentially cause studio to crash.  Usually seen if trying to convert 100 or more files in one batch. (Number varies  depending on system specs.)

  • Workaround:  Make sure Autosave is enabled and set to 30 seconds.  If you experience the crash, autosave will open studio back up and you can continue converting where studio left off.

Edit Room (Step 2) Specific Known Issues:

1.     When applying speed changes to template clips, the "out" timecode displayed does not reflect the actual timecode of the new outpoint.

  • Work around:  None fix coming in incremental release.
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1

2.     White balance picker does not update cursor icon to indicate the tool is active.  (Stays as default mouse arrow)

  • Work around: None to fix cursor, however white picker works fine, there is just no visual feedback that it’s active.

3.     If you move the "split" slider quickly to the left or right, the slider will not fully exit frame.

  • Work around: Click the "Split" text to the left of the slider.  This will reset the slider and clear it completely from frame.

4.     When converting files in import room, and working in the Edit room, as each conversion finishes and populates itself to the media bin, it can cause the media bin UI to scramble.

  • Work around:  Scroll list of files in the media bin to refresh.
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1

5.     On rare occasions, the Storyboard UI will render incorrectly.

  • Workaround: Save project and re-open.

6.     Edit Room: Export: Archive (GoPro Cineform) settings:  File size estimation can be dramatically larger than resulting file.

  • Workaround:  None – This will not be fixed as unfortunately, there is no way to reliably and accurately estimate the file size of a CineForm encoded .mov.

7.     Premium/Pro Only, the "Tools" can be laggy due to memory issue.

  • Workaround:  None, dependent on speed/memory capacity of user’s computer.

8.     Certain unsupported fonts (bitmap) can cause the video behind the font turn to black.

  • Workaround:  Only use True Type and Open Type face fonts within studio.

9.     Sliders sometimes do not dynamically update to keyframed positions during playback of Media Bin Clips.

  • Resolved: 2.0.1

10.  Unable to Left/Right “Arrow” through text in Title text dialogue.

  • Workaround: Use mouse to select cursor position.

11.  Single Jpeg conversion @ 5sec/frame and 2sec/Frame are displaying the wrong duration in thumbnails of Media Bin.

  • Workaround: None
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1

12.  Tool tips display too briefly during playback.

  • Workaround: Pause Playback.  Then tool tips behave correctly.
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1

13.    Templates that include an audio-less target entry, can prevent 30p footage from being dropped onto target.

  • Workaround: Drop any other frame rate file onto the problem entry,  then re-drop the originally intended 30p footage onto that targeted entry.    Dropping in a file of a frame rate other than 30 corrects the issue that's preventing 30p footage from being entered.
  • Bug Reference #: 15513
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1

14.  Unable to reset sliders within the "Tools" pallet. (Premium/Pro only)

  • Workaround: None

Export (Step 3) Specific Known Issues:

1.     3D Export: FULL RESOLUTION option is available for all export settings.  It should only be available when exporting to GoPro CineForm Codec. (Archive/Custom Presets)

  • Work around:  Choose any other 3D mode when exporting to h.264 formats.  (Mobile, hd720, hd1080, youtube, vimeo, custom-h.264)
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1

General Known Issues:

1.     QuickTime Player 10 does NOT display Active Metadata color corrections when playing CineForm .mov files.

  • Workaround:  Use QuickTime 7.   All NLE editing programs support Active Metadata.

2.     Thumbnails in OSX Snow Leopard and OSX Lion are dim.

  • Workaround:  Upgrade to OSX Mountain Lion.

3.     Under OSX Snow Leopard or earlier, installing with a previous version of Studio installed AND running will cause the installer to fail.

  • Workaround:  Run uninstall script located in Applications/GoPro/Tools/ before installing latest version of studio. Or, upgrade to latest version of OSX.

4.     Studio H.264 Exports not compatible with instagram video due to audio format incompatibility.

  • Workaround:  None.  Requires ability to create h.264’s with a different audio compression.
  • Resolved: Version 2.0.1
