Later this summer, GoPro will be releasing new versions of their software products which will include the custom CineForm file importer, exporter and sequence presets for Adobe Premiere Pro CC. In the meantime, here’s a DIY guide to copying the necessary files from a CS5, CS5.5 or CS6 installation into CC.
NOTE: This will only work if you have an existing CS5, CS5.5 or CS6 installation and with the corresponding CineForm Plugins already installed. These plugins are included in the GoPro CineForm Studio Premium and Professional download package. The following instructions assume you are using CS6. If you’re using CS5 or CS5.5, replace “CS6” in the folder paths mentioned with the version that you are actually copying from.
1. Copying the Plugins
In Finder, browse to the following folder on your main Macintosh HD (not your user folder):
Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS6/MediaCore
In that folder path, you should see a folder called “CineForm”.
Copy the “CineForm” folder and paste it into to:
Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore
2. Copying the Editing Modes
In Finder, browse to the following folder:
/Applications/Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
Right-click on the “Adobe Premiere Pro CS6” application icon and select “Show Package Contents” from the context menu.
Then browse to:
/Contents/Settings/Editing Modes
Copy the “CineForm 2D Editing Modes.xml” and “CineForm 3D Editing Modes.xml” files and paste them into the equivalent Adobe Premiere Pro CC folder.
3. Copying the Sequence Presets
In Finder, browse to the following folder:
/Applications/Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
Right-click on the “Adobe Premiere Pro CS6” application icon and select “Show Package Contents” from the context menu.
Then browse to:
/Contents/Settings/SequencePresets
Copy the “CineForm” folder and paste it into the equivalent Adobe Premiere Pro CC folder.
4. Copying the Sequence Preview Formats
In Finder, browse to the following folder:
/Applications/Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
Right-click on the “Adobe Premiere Pro CS6” application icon and select “Show Package Contents” from the context menu.
Then browse to:
/Contents/Settings/EncoderPresets/SequencePreview
Copy the ” F2F29742-405F-46a8-A0F2-965E2C1CD12d” and “F2F29742-405F-46a8-A0F2-965E2C1CD13D” folders and paste it the equivalent Adobe Premiere Pro CC folder.
5. In the MediaCoreQTCodecRulesCC.xml file, add the following to the CFHD entries:
deepdecodefourcc='b64a'
