DIY Guide to adding CineForm sequences to Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 (Windows)

Adobe recently released a new version of Premiere Pro CC called Premiere Pro CC 2014. The current GoPro Studio Premium/Professional installers do not install the CineForm Sequence presets into this new version of Premiere so here's how to manually copy the necessary files from a previous version of Premiere Pro CC.

NOTE: This will only work if the original Adobe Premiere Pro CC is installed and if GoPro Studio Premium or Professional version is installed.

1. Copying the Editing Modes

In Windows File Explorer, browse to the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC\Settings\Editing Modes

Copy the “CineForm 2D Editing Modes.xml” and “CineForm 3D Editing Modes.xml” files and paste them into:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014\Settings\Editing Modes

2. Copying the Sequence Presets

In Windows File Explorer, browse to the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC\Settings\SequencePresets

Copy the “CineForm” folder and paste it into:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014\Settings\SequencePresets

3. Copying the Sequence Preview Formats

In Windows File Explorer, browse to the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC\Settings\EncoderPresets\SequencePreview\

Copy the ”3596DE77-958B-4f01-8FA1-26CCFB135B2D” and “”3596DE77-958B-4f01-8FA1-26CCFB135B3D” folders and paste it into:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014\Settings\EncoderPresets\SequencePreview\

What if you are trying to do a fresh install? Do I have to install an older version? Can you just supply a download location for these settings files please?

Adobe has released an update to CC 2014 that includes native support for the GoPro CineForm codec. Its not necessary to install the plugins that install with GoPro Studio. But if you want those plugins anyway, please open a support request and ask for them. I can send them to you that way.

almost one year later, cineform studio still does not add the preset to premiere CC 2014.

Why the hell would I spend 300$ for a product that is not even able to install properly ?

Why are these preset not freely downloadable from . why do we have to install an obsolete version of adobe to get

these preset ?Is this meaning that cineform totally dropped the ball about adobe premiere  ?

I ask that because a was planning to purchase studio premium , but I cannot afford to spend 3004 for an obsolete product that has no support anymore.

Hi Lolly Pop.  There's no need to purchase the Premium version as these plugins are included with the free version of GoPro Studio available at gopro.com. Regardless of this, now that Adobe CC 2014 provides their own support of the GoPro CineForm codec, these components and plugins are not really needed anymore...unless you're trying to load old projects. Either way, the free version has what you need or you can open a support request and I can send you the plugins manually. Again...no need to spend the $299 at this point...unless you need the conversion tools (HDLink or Remaster).

I know adobe added native support for import and export for cineform premiere pro cc, however I am not seeing sequence settings for cineform. I take it I still need to follow the above process for these presets or did I miss something in the install process of premiere pro cc that only added export presets and not sequence presets?

If you want to use CineForm AVI files then you would need to follow these steps. If you're using Adobe's implementation with CineForm MOV files, just drag a file onto a blank timeline and it will ask to modify the sequence settings for you, making the appropriate sequence for the content.
