What is unique about CineForm compression?

Different than most compression formats, CineForm compression is designed specifically for post-production workflows, to do the following:
Maintain the highest visual fidelity for your images through post-production, even if using a multi-generation workflow. CineForm files are always 10 or 12 bits in precision, and offer equivalent visual benefits to using an uncompressed workflow, but with the cost and data management benefits resulting from smaller file sizes; and
Offer extremely high software performance on Intel CPU architectures. CineForm performance is many times higher than most native camera formats, and about 8X faster than complex algorithms like JPEG2000.
